Attorney at Law - Jean M. Gustafson

I am a practicing lawyer with offices in Brainerd and Crosby, Minnesota. I am licensed in the states of Minnesota, South Dakota, and Utah. Our firm has roots serving the Brainerd Lakes area dating back over 25 years.

I practice in these areas:

Criminal Law

I am a criminal defense lawyer, also known as a defense attorney, and I defend individuals and corporations charged with a crime. Criminal defense lawyers deal with issues surrounding an arrest, a criminal investigation, criminal charges, sentencing, appeals and post-trial issues. My representation includes dealing with police or other investigators, performing my own factual investigation into the criminal charge, and find that smoking gun that leads to dismissal of charges by the prosecutor.

If you believe you or a loved one is being investigated or has been arrested, you need a criminal defense attorney and you need to call me at 218-454-2039.

Employment Law

I assist companies and corporations in ensuring compliance with State law (Minnesota, South Dakota and Utah) and Federal law and rules in Employment law regarding employees. As a business owner your goal is to grow your business. The last thing you need is to deal with the headaches of ensuring and maintaining compliance with these state and federal laws.

Elder Probate Law

I assist clients in establishing a guardianship of their loved one and managing their loved one’s financial affairs. This may include creating an inventory of client assets including location of pension or retirement plans, any trusts, IRA, stocks, bonds or other bank accounts, locating business, medical, dental or disability insurances, real and personal property and determining their value and liability including bringing or defending against claims against the estate into court.
